Water Meter Bee Removal Job

South Florida’s Trusted Choice for Safe & Humane Bee Removal and Relocation.

Are you dealing with an unwelcome bee colony on your property in West Palm Beach or the surrounding tri-county area? Don’t let unwanted guests like bees infest your home, business, or, in this case, a water meter! We specialize in safe, live bee removal, ensuring the humane relocation of these vital pollinators to our local bee farm (apiary).

Hey everyone, it’s Nick, owner of GotBeez here in West Palm Beach. I wanted to share a recent job that was a real head-scratcher, but a fantastic example of what we do.

We got a call from our good friends at Erica’s Plumbing Air Conditioning & Restoration. They were out on a routine service call, working on a water meter, when they stumbled upon a full-blown bee colony living right inside it! Can you believe it? Bees in a water meter! It’s actually more common than you’d think; those meters are dark, protected, and just the right size for a growing hive.

When we arrived, you could already see the guard bees near the entrance, diligently protecting their home. Once we carefully opened up the meter, it was buzzing with activity. We saw all sorts of bees, even some of those larger drone bees, the males of the colony, and no, they don’t have stingers!

Our main goal, as always, was to safely remove and relocate the entire colony, and that means finding the queen bee. We started carefully transferring the bees by hand into one of our hive boxes. It’s a meticulous process, but it’s crucial for the bees’ well-being. After some searching, we finally spotted her – the queen! Once we have the queen, the rest of the colony usually follows.

It was a great day, and we successfully removed and relocated all those bees to a safer, more natural environment where they can continue to thrive. A big thanks to Erica’s Plumbing for giving us a call and for always looking out for these amazing creatures.

If you ever find yourself with an unexpected bee problem, whether it’s in a water meter, a wall, or anywhere else, give us a call at GotBeez. We’re always happy to help!
