GotBeez at The Mall at Wellington Green — Celebrating Earth Day 2026
A live observation hive, local raw honey, and real bee education for Wellington families.
Quick Summary
This Earth Day, GotBeez took our mission out of the field and into the community — setting up a live observation bee hive, local raw honey from our apiary, and a table full of bee education for the families and kids at The Mall at Wellington Green’s Earth Day celebration in Wellington, FL.
A Live Bee Hive at the Mall — Yes, Really
It was one of our favorite days of the year — and judging by the smiles, the kids thought so too.
We brought our live observation bee hive — a sealed glass-panel display box housing a working colony — so kids and parents could see thousands of live honey bees up close for the very first time. No suits, no fear, just wonder.
Watching their faces light up when they realized they were looking at a real, living hive just inches away was exactly why we do events like this.
Alongside the hive, we set up jars of local raw honey straight from our apiary — the same bees we rescue and relocate from homes and businesses across Palm Beach and Broward Counties end up at our apiary producing the honey you can taste right here in South Florida.
Families got to sample it, ask questions, and take home a little piece of what makes beekeeping so special.
The GotBeez Booth
Our table told the GotBeez story in one glance: a working observation hive buzzing with live bees, a real Langstroth hive box so families could see what a proper bee home looks like, jars of raw local honey from our apiary, photos from real bee removal jobs across South Florida, and our signature yellow-and-black branded display.
The table gave us a natural way to explain the full story: bees that get into a home in Wellington, Boynton Beach, or West Palm Beach don’t get exterminated — they get relocated to our apiary, where they go on to produce the very honey sitting right there in front of you.
That is what it means to save the bees one hive at a time.
Educating the Next Generation of Bee Advocates
The conversations we had at this event were exactly what Earth Day is supposed to produce. Parents asking how to tell the difference between a wasp and a honey bee. Kids wanting to know where the queen sleeps. Families who had bees in their walls last year finally understanding why we never use pesticides.
- Honey bees pollinate about one-third of the food we eat — every almond, avocado, and strawberry depends on them. In South Florida, that includes crops and agriculture throughout Palm Beach County’s farming communities.
- Bees in your home are not a death sentence for the colony. GotBeez removes and relocates every hive alive — from walls, soffits, trees, and structures — to our working apiary. The bees keep living. Your home gets sealed.
- South Florida has bees year-round. Unlike northern states, our subtropical climate means bees swarm every month of the year. Wellington, Royal Palm Beach, and the surrounding communities see active swarms even in December and January.
- Africanized bees are real and present in South Florida. Knowing the signs — unusual aggression, large defensive response to disturbance — and calling a professional instead of attempting DIY removal is genuinely life-saving information.
We left every family with something to take home — whether that was a jar of honey, a bee plushie for the kids, or just a new understanding that the next time a swarm shows up in their backyard, the right call is to pick up the phone, not reach for a can of spray.

Frequently Asked Questions About GotBeez Events & Live Bee Education
These FAQs help explain how community events like Earth Day at Wellington Green connect to what GotBeez does every day across South Florida.
Why does GotBeez do public events like this?
Community events give us the chance to educate people about bees before they ever have a problem at home. That helps families understand the value of live relocation and why spraying is not the right answer for honey bees.
Was the live observation hive safe for the public?
Yes. Observation hives are designed so people can safely see live bees up close while the colony stays fully contained.
Do the bees you relocate really go to your apiary?
Yes. When conditions safely allow, we relocate rescued colonies to our working apiary so they can keep living and producing honey instead of being destroyed.
Do you offer live bee removal in Wellington and Palm Beach County?
Yes. We provide live bee removal throughout Wellington, Royal Palm Beach, Loxahatchee, Greenacres, Lake Worth Beach, and the rest of Palm Beach County.
